Research
I'm a socio-cultural anthropologist fascinated by how politics shapes our daily lives—from the personal decisions we make to the global forces that influence them. My research explores how people navigate violence and displacement, how communities remember their past, and how societies grapple with loss and mortality. Through ethnographic fieldwork, I've spent years learning from communities both in Afghanistan and across their global diaspora, from India to Turkey, and from Germany to the United States.
